Founder Jerry Bergner left the finance industry after working in it for 25 years to begin Integrated Life and Financial Planning, “I had been using ACT by default, mostly for managing my database but not really for contact management.” Bergner realized that he needed to find a system to help him with contact management, and began investigating via Google searches and product reviews
“I first used Redtail CRM, but it was totally non-intuitive. I’m not a programmer but I am good at this stuff, I’ve been working with CRMs for 25 years, but I couldn’t see where any of the information is. It also had no import function. They had a consultant who had to import and map it, and for me it totally messed up.”
Bergner decided to look for another CRM when importing his contacts into Redtail CRM proved difficult, “I called the client manager and she told me it would take 2 weeks to fix!”
Bergner also needed a Gmail to Gmail sync. ‘My business and personal contacts were getting all messed up. I thought to myself, I can’t be the only person who needs to sync my Gmail contacts, and if I could combine it with Pipedrive at the same time that would be great. So I did a Google search, and lo and behold; there’s PieSync doing exactly what I need.”
How Pipedrive and PieSync Helped
Bergner is impressed with Pipedrive’s visual dashboard “I’m a visual person, and I like the visual tracking on your progress. I have a client process that’s circular, so it keeps repeating. In Pipedrive I can set up these steps in the process on my screen, and slide the client over depending on where they are in the client process.”
Pipedrive’s many features such as email attribution to client profiles and VOIP calls, make Bergner’s business dealings seamless, “I found Pipedrive simple to learn and intuitive,” he says. PieSync has helped take the pain of contact management away from business “It works like a charm. I don’t even know it’s there,” says Bergner.
Thanks to the real-time two-way sync, business contacts are always up to date and correct. “I do everything by appointment, so it’s important to me that when I call someone, I’m clicking on the right number. It used to happen that quite a bit that someone changes an email or their phone number and it’s wrong. Now I don’t hesitate and I don’t have to spend my time looking up contact details. I don’t remember the last time I went to call someone and had a wrong number. It would have been difficult to use Pipedrive if I hadn’t found a way to sync information across different platforms. PieSync does the trick.”
